EmitenTrust.com TORONTO, Sept. 23, 2026 /CNW/ -- The Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO) is pleased to announce the election of Marc Provost and the re-election of Rhonda Goldberg to its Board of Directors, both for two-year terms.

Mr. Provost brings extensive experience in Québec's financial sector to CIRO's Board, as well as a strong track record of senior leadership and governance. His election as an independent director reinforces CIRO's commitment to effective regulation, investor protection and maintaining the fairness and efficiency of Canada's capital markets.

Ms. Goldberg, who serves as General Counsel and member of the IGM Financial Inc. executive team, will continue to bring deep knowledge of the securities regulatory environment and the asset and wealth management industry to CIRO's board. With experience in both public and private sectors, Rhonda's insights have proven crucial for the Board and her role on its Finance, Audit and Risk Committee.

"We are pleased to welcome Marc to the CIRO Board of Directors and to continue to work with Rhonda as an Industry Director," said Miranda Hubbs, Board Chair, CIRO. "Marc's expertise in global asset management, corporate strategy, leadership and board governance, will also bring valuable insight to the Board as we continue to strengthen investor protection and foster confidence in Canada's capital markets. Rhonda's expertise in regulation and asset and wealth management will continue to play a critical role in guiding CIRO. We look forward to their contributions in support of CIRO's public interest mandate."

Mr. Provost, having retired from the industry five years ago, has held several senior leadership roles throughout his career, including as Vice-President and Co-Chief Investment Officer, Public Markets and Corporate Strategy at Desjardins Global Asset Management; Senior Vice-President, Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer at Intact; and Vice-President, Canadian Equity Market at the Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec. He also serves on the Management Committee for Financial Assets of the Fonds de solidarité des travailleurs du Québec (FTQ), the largest development capital investment network in the province, and on the Audit and Investment Committee of Echo Foundation, a private charitable foundation that supports frontline mental health services and environmental initiatives. His expertise will support the Board's oversight of CIRO's strategic priorities and public interest mandate, while maintaining a strong regional perspective rooted in the Québec financial industry.

CIRO's Board is composed of independent and industry directors with diverse backgrounds and perspectives, providing the experience and expertise necessary to support the organization's mandate and long-term strategic objectives.
