Egan-Jones Ratings Company Appoints Kenneth L. Godwin as Senior Director, Ratings

Godwin, former Branch Chief at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission's Office of Credit Ratings, as Senior Director, Ratings. In this role, Godwin will oversee the company's ratings function and report directly to the Egan-Jones Board of Directors. With more than 25 years of financial services experience, including more than 21 years with the SEC and 14 years overseeing examinations of Nationally Recognized Statistical Rating Organizations (NRSROs), Godwin brings deep regulatory expertise and risk management experience to Egan-Jones, where he will strengthen the company's ratings function and support its continued focus on regulatory compliance.

Godwin has held several senior roles in financial services regulation, most recently serving as a Branch Chief in the SEC's Office of Credit Ratings from 2011 to 2025, where he led examination teams responsible for the annual regulatory examinations of NRSROs. Prior to that, Godwin served as a Staff Accountant in the SEC's NRSRO and Broker-Dealer Examination Programs.
