IDCA Leads AI Infrastructure Discussions at World Investment Forum in Doha
EmitenTrust.com - DOHA, Qatar, Oct. 28, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- IDCA Chairman and CEO Mehdi Paryavi delivered the spotlight address, "Investment in AI Infrastructure," at the World Investment Forum. The session, held in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), brought together international leaders and industry representatives to examine the investment required to expand AI infrastructure, including data centers, cloud computing and high-performance computing.
The Forum was hosted by UN Trade and Development (UNCTAD), under the patronage of H.E. Sheik Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, the State of Qatar. Thematic tracks framed the sessions and connected them to concrete outcomes, tackling the biggest challenges facing international investment today: geopolitical uncertainty, climate change and technological disruption, according to Prime Minister.
"Our choice is to strengthen the rules that let nations live, trade and invest together in peace," said UNCTAD Secretary-General Rebeca Grynspan in convening the Forum. Her remarks were echoed by Ahmad Al-Sayed, Minister of State for Foreign Trade Affairs of Qatar, who urged attendees "to seize this moment of global challenge as an opportunity, to rewire investment toward resilience, equity and shared prosperity."
Mr. Paryavi delivered the spotlight address on the Forum's first day, focusing on "Investment in AI Infrastructure." The session was held in collaboration with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). "Developing AI infrastructure on a global basis is the foremost investment challenge and opportunity facing us today," said Mr. Paryavi during his remarks. "At IDCA, we stand in unison with our hosts from UNCTAD and the State of Qatar in urging investors to respond to this challenge."
Dr. Marinescu continued discussions about AI with world leaders in attendance, discussing critical challenges facing emerging economies, including access to capital, energy, connectivity and skilled talent, as well as the policies and investment strategies needed to support national AI ambitions.
Dr. Marinescu also addressed the role of AI: "We must examine AI in not only in its development and use, but in its effects on workforce development. We must measure the human dependency of all jobs and determine where AI will create substantial numbers of new jobs, augment existing jobs, and automate lower-skilled jobs. The net result will be a transformation toward digital economies that benefit all workers, economies, and societies."
The IDCA delegation then concluded its participation at the United Nations 9th World Investment Forum. Throughout the Forum, IDCA leadership held numerous discussions with ministers and policymakers from around the world during diverse sessions and speaking engagements.
