U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development Announces Upcoming Loan Sale: "HVLS 2027-1"

EmitenTrust.com WASHINGTON, Sept. 16, 2026 /PRNewswire/ -- The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has announced upcoming HUD-Held Vacant Loan Sale ("HVLS 2027-1"):

About the Sale

• On October 27, 2026, HUD will offer multiple residential mortgage loans consisting of approximately 4,200 mortgage loans with a loan balance of approximately $1.3 billion.
• Bidder qualifications will begin on September 15, 2026, and the data room will open on or about September 17, 2026.
• The sale will consist of due and payable HUD-held loans. The loans are first liens secured by Home Equity Conversion Mortgages (HECMs) securing 1-to-4-unit, residential properties where all borrowers and any non-borrowing spouses are deceased.
• The mortgage loans included in this sale are secured by vacant residential properties.
• HVLS 2027-1 will include additional requirements to comply with Executive Order 14376, issued on January 20, 2026, titled "Stopping Wall Street from Competing with Main Street Homebuyers" and Title X of the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act (P.L. 119-101), titled "Home-Ownership for Main Street America."
