Insurify Blocks Meta's Muse Agent From Its Insurance Marketplace

Automated scraping by agents like Muse risks stripping carrier quotes of critical contextual information that consumers need to make informed insurance-buying decisions. The Muse AI agent can present carrier quotes as a bare price list and omit coverage limits, deductibles, discounts, eligibility conditions, and state-required disclosures. A carrier quote is an offer of coverage, not merely a price, and Insurify protects the accompanying terms, eligibility, attribution, and disclosures that empower consumers to make an informed choice for their needs.

The move also protects Insurify's 120-plus carrier partners and the commitment they make to policyholders. Carriers design coverage for each customer based on their unique background, risk profile, and risk tolerance. A rate alone can't show whether a policy fits the person it was priced for. Bulk quoting by automated agents may also add real cost. Each quote request can trigger paid data checks, such as driving records and, in states that permit it, credit-based insurance scores, whether or not a real shopper is behind the request. Those costs bring carriers no new customers, and consumers may ultimately bear the added expense through higher premiums.
